What if they used some kind of magnetic screws? Probably horrendously complex, but say you had a large screw/threaded bolt on a bearing on the ship facing outwards, and you had a powerful magnet on one side of the screw head, Could you then put a big magnet on a drill motor and screw each tile in from the front without contacting the screw itself?

I disagree that a dedicated catch tower would have short term limited use. Maybe in the future they will launch, catch, stack and launch again without any refurbishment/repairs, but I don't see that happening anytime soon especially with the Ship.. So why risk damaging or destroying a very complex OLM and tower when a much simplified shorter tower with chopsticks would suffice? A massive risk and massive pressure on the engineers to get it right the first time... every time.
